This is a step-by-step approach to the fundamentals of oil painting. The class begins with a discussion of drawing, color, and composition.  Students will paint a still life from observation and paint another canvas from their own photograph, their imagination, or a second still life. We will explore basic concepts of value massing, brushwork, edges, and color mixing, while working from general to specific. A materials list will be provided after registration.
