The Modern’s Teen/Artist Project pairs area high school students with visiting artists and aims to expand students’ art practices by introducing new concepts, artists, and media in the field of
contemporary art. Visiting artists lead students through an investigation of coinciding exhibitions and artists associated with the Modern’s permanent collection and introduce related projects in the Museum studio. Students are accepted into the eight-month course based on their applications and accompanying portfolio. Class sessions meet at the Modern from 2 to 5 pm most Sundays, September through May, and the program is free of charge for those accepted.
