Synopsis
A lonesome soul is looking for love online, but little does he know is that his questionable behavior will lead to a sting that makes for great TV. Chris Hansen and his crew are waiting to catch yet another predator for their hit NBC show and some internal conflict begins to arise. Although Hansen is committing a public service, he can’t help but question the integrity of his career. Should he continue to catch predators to keep the ratings high all while ignoring the sensational tone that makes his show less about journalism and more about cheap entertainment? What will his family think as he continues to spend more time in cyberland and less time at home? It’s up to Hansen himself to simultaneously maintain his sanity and put Dateline NBC on the map. To Catch a Predator: The Musical examines what goes into creating a hit reality program and the personal and professional toll it takes on all involved.
